So, working KICKED MY TAIL. Hard. Multiple times.
Monday started off okay, Tuesday wasn't bad. By Wednesday morning the Little Mister didn't want us to leave when we dropped him off. Wednesday night he was full on congested and didn't sleep much (and neither did his parents). Thursday Husband stayed home with him until 11 and then took him in. That night was a repeat of the night before. Friday we got a call from school that he had a fever and by that afternoon we had a diagnosis of ear infection AND pink eye.
So, my boy who has never been sick got a double whammy this week.
On a positive note, Little A did fine and asked why she couldn't go to school today. She was a little ramped up each night, likely quite stimulated from 9 hours of constant play time. This was 'musical instrument week' in her class and she got to bring in her keyboard for the show'n'tell yesterday. She loved it.
As for me, working full time in this position at this company will be quite different than my last job. Jury is still out. I think I am the only mom of the group, thus the only one who needs to be out the door by 5 in order to get to day-care on time. That's going to be tough to manage. My last job was quite flexible and very accommodating to working moms.
I'm already worried about the little guy for next week. I'm wishing my retired mother-in-law lived closer!

Wow Michelle...my heart goes out to you! If anyone can master the balance it's you. And, you, more than anybody I know, will do a great job prioritizing your kids, even tho it's never easy to be the one to lead at 5:00 on the dot to do day-care pick-up. Good luck next week! I hope it will only get better.
I know it's hard the first few weeks- and it's especially tough when the little one is sick. Poor little guy. It will get easier- it will take a few weeks for everyone to adjust, but it DOES get easier. And kids are fairly adjustable too, but I know how heartbreaking it is to leave them. Hang in there- I'm thinking about you.
I hate to hear that your first week was so rough! I so hope next week goes more smoothly. You must be exhausted. My prayers are with you.
Grammy is on her way! See you Monday!
